Politician pay rise - bend over, it's Xmas

Those vulturious bastards who pretend to run the country have outdone themselves. Yep, while people all over the joint are stressing about not being able to afford the latest consumables like food, power - rent etc. The politicians have been awarded a pay rise.

A FUCKING PAY RISE!

While at the same time they're busy slashing govt spending in a desperate measure to balance the books as they promised to do ... yep, that's right - they're cutting spending [of your own money] on you, will getting more of your money for themselves - sweet deal eh?

What's more - they announce it right on Xmas - the cynical, corrupt, shallow, thieving bastards!.

Julia Gillard will receive around $470,000 [plus perks and entitlements - like free housing, travel etc...]

What the hell does she do that's worth $470,000? She doesn't run the country - she manages the release of spin that gives the illusion that she does.

Wanna cut Govt spending? Fire 90% of the politicians - and make the rest of 'em work for real wages. Give them pay rises in-line with what the rest of us working stiffs get ... you know - less than the increase in the cost of living [keep 'em hungry eh?].

While we're at it - lets sell the lodge too [she can live in proper Govt housing - or bloody well get a flat] - and no more fancy limo's either. Let 'em catch the bus, it'll be good for them - on their way to work they'll be able to listen to what people really think, want, need or feel - and not what their handlers tell 'em we do.

Lets fire all the media managers in Govt too - the 'consultants' and endless bloody 'assistants' - fuck 'em all off.

No more free meals and swanky restaurants either - they can have a servo pie like everyone else or make their own.

Yep. let's start at the top with cuts to Govt spending eh?

Still, just to show that they're not ALL complete shits:

Federal Energy Minister Martin Ferguson declared he doesn't need a pay rise - no word yet on if he will refuse it though ...

And good old Bob Brown said:

Politicians' salaries should be compared with those of ordinary Australians, like police and nurses, not corporate executives who earned millions

At the end of the day - they will, of course get their pay rise - and we'll do nothing. And so, the truism stands:

A country gets the politicians it deserves ...

Which is all just a bit bloody sad and disheartening if you think about it ...

... get the feeling they're laughing at you? - yeh, me too.

The Roast Dot Com Dot Au

A loyal reader and sometimes pot smoker sent me a link to this site The Roast.com.au. Here's what P.H had to say:

It's laughable, everything on that 'blog' is wet and stolen from the 'chasers war on everything', you must be doing something right mate for the Sydney Morning Herald to be the inspiration for a blog that is so obviously trying to redirect links ... etc etc

Here's a screen capture of the 'blog' in question:

Smelliest person of the year? Really?

The internal header of this blog reads : "The courage to be great"

Calling someone smelly - is great? ... and courageous?.

Oh - righto then.

Anyway -

What?! I spluttered over a bottle of beer, 'the corporate media is running a campaign of disinformation'?

Absurd.

Couldn't happen.

Why no-one would believe it, I started the Roast first - surely that means something right?

LMFAO - course not.

BUT! I have something that they don't have; I have a list of people you've heard of who've read this blog or been impacted by it in some way - here it is:

Tracy Grimshaw [Australia's answer to Jerry Springer]
The Prime-minister [Rudd and Gillard]
The Leader of the opposition [all three of them]
Rupert Murdoch [and sons]
David
The bored guy who looks up firefox ad-on's at work
You
The Bishop of N.Y
My Mum
That guy from Canada

More importantly, there is hope. My spell check didn't recognise Grimshaw or Rudd/Gillard [which really just goes to show how completely ineffectual they all are]

It did however, recognise Rupert and Murdoch - which in turn shows how recognisable cunts are these days.

Still, beer splutters aside. 'the roast dot com dot au' is exactly what it pretends to be - a safe, warm and cuddly brought and paid for 20 some-thing's view of life, with the odd 'fuck' thrown in for street creed. [Wait till he says 'cunt' ... nah, it'll never happen, cunt is too offensive don't you know? ... fuck ... I've said cunt twice now ... ... AH FUCK!]

Oh okay, the roast dot com dot au isn't original, it isn't edgy, it isn't even informative - but it is an excellent insight into the mind of the children of the misled middle class - it's beautiful for it's ignorance and arrogance.

And of course, it reads like it's written by burnt out hacks who struggle to contain their moisture at violent crime scenes ...

But just when you think there is no soul to the blog - right at the very bottom, are links. Links to blogs about diabetes. You know, that disease that fat Caucasians or Aboriginal people have.

Why it's positively informative ... illuminating even. It's a veritable mine of health care - except did you know that one of the simple tests for diabetes is smell? ... eg - do you stink?

The socialist scum, who would post such links?.

It is, in short - the place that bloggers like me pray for to collect material. And long may it slither along.

Personally, I consider the whole blog to be as onerous as road kill in Normanton ... but that's just me; if you'd like to save some time by clicking the link rather than googling it here it is:

The Roast [but not really]

Thanks P.H ... and yes, I owe you a beer.

occupy

I came across this photo essay and stole what to me were some of the more poignant pics to share with you good readers [hi Mum].

The financial and political corruption that we all have accepted for so long is starting to collapse under it's own weight. People are finally waking up to the reality of living as serfs while being told they are 'free'.

People are saying, collectively, Fuck You.

And why?. Well, as I have mentioned before, when poverty and injustice comes knockin' on the doors of middle-class neighbourhoods people tend to get a little pissed. It's just not meant to be like that. The middle class vote, they pay taxes, they try and be good citizens [whatever that is eh?]. And now they're working out that they've been seriously rogered by the very system they have sustained and supported their whole lives.

The poor dumb shits.

If you're wondering what the 1% think of you - here's a link to some leaked documents from citibank - read it, you'll be amazed at just how much of an arsehole the 1% thinks you are.

Of course, if you don't read it ... then they're probably right.

Here's the pics:

The tide is turning. And thank God eh?

The greedy bastards.

Wake Up Call

If you're at all interested in your personal liberty and freedoms, you might have time to check this documentary out [it's well produced and damned informative].

Here's the blurb:

Compiled by John Nada. Some of the topics covered in this documentary are: The New World Order, Federal Reserve, Bilderberg Group, Trilateral Commission, Council on Foreign Relations, North American Union, The Rockefeller and Rothschild families, Freemasonry, Bohemian Grove, The Illuminati, Problem-Reaction-Solution, 9/11, war profiteering, the phony ‘War on Terrorism’, the impending ‘Big Brother Surveillance Society’, the war on civil liberties, microchipping, mind control, media control and ‘education system’ indoctrination.

But I like this better - it's the disclaimer at the start of the film:

Interestingly, here's what you get if click some links to the film:

mmmm ...

Here's the link to it:

Wake Up Call

It's the best doco I've ever seen - period.

So wake up and watch it, or you know, have another big mac and go back to sleep ... it's completely up to you.

I'm going to email SBS and ask them to play this - I'll let you know what their reply is should I get one.

WOW, just had a call from someone in fuck knows where India asking me about my computer [am I the owner of this computer etc ... it's awesome], creepy, but awesome. And yep, I'm dead set serious that I just got that call.

Oh, and I am writing/posting this as I watch/listen to the doco ...

Here's how the documentary nearly ends:

Freedom to Fascism : A must see Documentary

If you only get time to watch one documentary this summer - make it this one:

Former rock & roll promoter and manager – turned – political activist Aaron Russo sets out to discover the truth behind the Internal Revenue Service in an eye-opening documentary filmed to find out if there is any existing law that requires Americans to pay an income tax. What Russo claims to uncover in his non-partisan investigation is a systematic erosion of civil liberties implemented by wealthy bankers in the early 19th century and subsequently proliferated by a government more interested in ruling the people than serving them.

Trust me - it'll blow your mind.

Teen Panties make MP cry

With everything that's wrong in the world [rampant greed, war, famine, political bastardry etc], you'd think that elected members of parliament would be fairly thick skinned.

MP for Moreton, Graham Perrett is obviously however, a sensitive soul. In fact Mr Perrett claims that seeing adolescent underclothes is enough to reduce him to tears:

Mr Perrett

It makes me cry to see that sort of stuff out there in our stores. It sends the wrong message entirely

And just what is the source of Mr Perretts anguish? Well, here's a pic.

But of course Mr Perrett wasn't alone [politicians rarely are], Australia's very own moral megaphone Melinda Tankard Reist also had this to say:

Why else would you put this sort of thing, such as 'call me' on underwear if you were not encouraging young women to flaunt their sexuality?

Why else indeed eh? A bit of cheeky harmless fun maybe? Nah, that couldn't be it.

The really interesting bit about this is that K-Mart is a subsidiary of WalMart ... now get this little article I stole from the OccupyWallStreet blog.

Wal-Mart is the largest corporation in the world and proof positive of how big business is destructive to our democracy. While Americans are shopping at Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart is buying Congress. Last year, Wal-Mart paid over $4.3 million in campaign contributions (not to mention the monies funnelled through donations to lobbying organizations) to protect its interests.

Unfortunately, its interests are not those of its employees. With $14.3 billion in profits in 2010, Wal-Mart still saw fit to eliminate health insurance coverage for part time employees, cut company contributions to employee health savings accounts by 50% and increase health care premiums 17% to 61% for over 2.1 million employees worldwide. According to an article in the Huffington Post, the average Wal-Mart worker makes $8.81 per hour, while the CEO makes $8990.00 per hour.

The Walton family (the largest shareholders of Wal-Mart stock and descendants of its founder) is the wealthiest family in the United States with an estimated net worth of $92 billion (according to Forbes’ latest ranking). That’s more wealth than the bottom 40% of Americans combined. They directly gave $7,000,000 in political contributions in 2010 and billions more through their family foundations in an effort to buy our legislative process

Call me cynical, but I have no reason to believe that K-Mart, Target or any other monument to rapacious consumerism is ran any differently. But knowing all this - these self appointed moral guardians seem to care more about cotton panties than a fair shake for employees or a reasoned attitude to protecting 'democratic' processes.

Now that's something to cry about eh?
